Here is my honest top ten for brand, marketing and web teams, in the order I would consider them, with what each is genuinely good at. No affiliate links, no sponsorship, just twenty years of watching teams work.
Trello. The board your clients will actually use. Perfect for small studios and client facing work.
Basecamp. The calm option. Keeps client communication out of the inbox and feedback in one place.
Jira. Built for web and development sprints. Essential for engineering, overkill for a brand refresh.
Asana. Strong on campaign timelines and handing work between teams.
Monday.com. Visual and friendly, good for marketing teams juggling many launches at once.
ClickUp. Tries to do everything and mostly does. Powerful, but easy to over build.
Notion. Briefs, brand guidelines and project wikis living next to the tasks.
Wrike. Proofing and approvals for creative agencies with heavy review cycles.
Linear. Fast and focused, loved by product and web build teams.
Airtable. Content pipelines, asset libraries and launch trackers that need structure.
How to choose
Start with the room, not the features. How many people, how many clients, how much visibility does each client need. Then pick the simplest tool that holds your agreement about how work moves.
And remember the solopreneur with her notebook. She would beat half the teams on this list, because her system is sound. The tool is never the system. The agreement is.
